Neighborhood Block Parties
Block parties are a great way for residents to come together and build strong neighborhoods through an entertaining atmosphere. The City of Sioux Falls encourages block parties as a way to foster neighborhood cohesion and strengthen our community.
- A street closure permit is required for the block parties occurring on a city street; however, the permit fee is waived for block parties. Street barricades are the responsibility of the party organizer. More information on street barricades can be found in the Street Closure/Parade Authorization Permit form.
- If music or other entertainment will exceed the noise decibel limits set by City ordinance, an excessive noise permit is required. This permit fee is also waived for block parties.
- If the block party intends to use a City park, please refer to Events Held On City Property.
