Project Update 8/11/2022

  • Phase 1 (W. 40th Street from S. Valley View Road to S. Gibson Avenue) & Phase 2 (S. Holbrook Avenue from W. 40th Street to W. 37th Street) are now open to traffic!
  • Phase 3 (S. Gibson Avenue from W. 41st Street to W. 37th Street) and Phase 4 (37th Street from Valley View Road to S. Gibson Avenue) are under construction and will remain closed until complete.
  • The bottom lift of asphalt has been placed along Phase 2 (S. Holbrook Avenue from W. 40th Street to W. 37th Street) and the street has been re-opened to residents!  The north end of Phase 2 (at the intersection of 37th and Holbrook) will remail closed until the completion of Phase 4.
  • Phase 3 watermain installation is complete!  The contractor is currently working on fine grading gravel in preparation for the bottom lift of asphalt.
  • This phase will remain closed to all traffic until its completion – currently estimated to be completed around August 16th, though weather and unforeseen circumstances may impact that.
  • Phase 4 (37th Street from S. Valley View Road to S. Gibson Avenue) is now closed.  Traffic control has been installed and removals for this phase have begun.  It is anticipated that Phase 4 will be under construction and closed for approximately one month.
  • School Bus Inc. has been notified of the projects progress and is aware that 37th Street will likely still be fully closed by the start of the school year.  They have also been notified of the mill and overlay that is to come following the completion of Phase 4 for the entire project area.  If there are any updates to bus routes or pick up locations, they will notify those affected.
  • Temporary mailbox locations #1 & #2 (for residents within Phase 1 through Phase 4) have been installed and are in service.  Mailboxes adjacent to working limits will be removed following the closure of a phase to prevent damage occurring to them.  The Contractor will store these until the Phase is complete and will reset them at that time.  If mail is inside your mailbox at the time they remove them, it will be placed within your temporary mailbox.
  • The temporary mailboxes will be ready for use once installed, however the USPS may choose to deliver to your usual mailbox until the closure of the street your home mailbox is located on.
  • Reminder:  If you have not done so, please contact your garbage providers and discuss how they wish to handle pickups during the construction process.
  • Please continue to check in for information on where the project currently is and upcoming events.
