Highland Addition Improvements – Phase 3

Project Update 8/11/2022  

  • Phase 1: Sherman Avenue from 3rd Street to 4th Street has started and utility work is ongoing
  • Removals are done. 
  • Sanitary Sewer Service installation is complete.
  • Watermain installation is complete.
  • Grading is ongoing with subgrade cement stabilization set to follow right after and then gravelling and paving.

  • Phase 2: Sherman Avenue from 5th  Street to 6th Street has started and is ongoing. 
  • Removals are done.
  • Temporary water installation is ongoing. 
  • Sanitary sewer installation is set to begin right after everyone is switched over to temporary water and right after, watermain will be installed. 

Commuter Route Information: 

  • Sherman Avenue will be closed to traffic from 4th St  to 3rd St
  • Residents will not have vehicle access to their residences while construction is taking place
  • Sidewalk access will be maintained at all times.

Project Summary:

The project will reconstruct Sherman Avenue from 3rd Street to 4th Street, Sherman Avenue from 5th Street to 6th Street, and Wayland Avenue from 5th Street to 6th Street. Improvements will include the removal and replacement of the curb & gutter, asphalt pavement, sanitary sewer, and watermain.
