2021 One Book Siouxland Events Recall 9/11

This year marks the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, when militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. The selection of two 2021 One Book Siouxland reads, one fiction—Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safar Foer; one—The Only Plane in the Sky by Garrett Graff—were selected to help area residents remember and reflect on an event that changed U.S. history. These events are open to the public at no charge.

An event highlight will be the 3:30–5 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, virtual author visit by Graff. A group viewing will be held at the Downtown Library; it can also be viewed from home.

Registration is required for most events at www.siouxlandlib.org or by calling 605‑367‑8700.
