33rd Street and Minnesota Avenue Intersection Traffic Switch

Beginning on Friday, August 13, 2021, work will begin on Phase 2 of the reconstruction of the intersection of 33rd Street and Minnesota Avenue. Work will include underground utility improvements, traffic signal improvements, updated accessible curb ramps, and new concrete pavement.

Minnesota Avenue traffic will shift to the newly constructed east lanes to allow for reconstruction of the west side of the intersection. 33rd Street, east of Minnesota Avenue, will reopen at this time as well. No left turns will be allowed for 33rd Street westbound to southbound traffic. 33rd Street west of Minnesota Avenue will be closed, and will be detoured along Phillips Avenue, 26th Street, and Grange Avenue.

Work is anticipated to be complete mid-October. 

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and will want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - Ralph Rogers Road

Beginning on Monday, August 16, 2021, Ralph Rogers Road will be closed from Sweetbriar Drive to Minnesota Avenue to allow construction crews to begin work on street grading activities. 

Ralph Rogers Road is expected to reopen in approximately one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and will want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Kiwanis Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the outside northbound and southbound lanes of Kiwanis Avenue will be closed between 13th Street and 15th Street to allow crews to perform signal work.

Work is expected to be complete in approximately two weeks.
