Sanitary Sewer Lining - 41st Street West of the Big Sioux River

Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, sanitary sewer lining work will begin at 41st Street between Westport Avenue and the Big Sioux River.

Eastbound traffic along 41st Street, just west of the Big Sioux River, will be reduced to two lanes.

The work is anticipated to be completed in approximately four weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction areas and may want to consider alternate routes.

Sanitary Sewer Lining - I-90, West of Cliff Avenue, and East Tenth Street and Bahnson Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, sanitary sewer lining work will begin at I -90 West of Cliff Avenue, and at East Tenth Street and Bahnson Avenue.

The interstate shoulders just west of the I-90 and Cliff Avenue interchange will closed for both east bound traffic and west bound traffic.

The east to northbound left turn lane will be closed on East Tenth Street at Bahnson Avenue. Traffic turning into Boom Funeral Home and Flyboy Donuts will not be able to enter the businesses at the Bahnson Avenue entrance. Entrances east and west of the Bahnson Avenue entrance will remain open. The Runnings’ entrance will be reduced to one lane in.

The work is anticipated to be completed in approximately four weeks for each location.

Street Closure - 53rd Street

Beginning on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, 53rd Street will be closed from Bluestem Street to Marion Road to allow construction crews to begin work on street and utility improvements. 

Work will include replacing the water main and sanitary sewer, concrete repairs, and new asphalt surfacing.

53rd Street is expected to reopen to traffic mid to late July 2021.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and will want to consider alternate routes.

Minnesota Avenue and 28th Street Reconstruction

Beginning on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, work will begin for the reconstruction of the west leg of the intersection of Minnesota Avenue and 28th Street. Sidewalk ramps at the intersection will be updated for ADA compliance.

Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane from south of 27th Street through 28th Street. Traffic control will be in place and the work is anticipated to be completed within fifteen working days.
