This notice provides the public an opportunity to examine and comment on amendment #5 to the 2020 Annual Action Plan for the City of Sioux Falls for a period of 30 days. Low- and moderate-income persons, racial and ethnic minorities, non-English speaking persons, and persons with disabilities are specifically encouraged to review and comment on the proposed amendment. The Action Plan is part of the City’s Consolidated Plan. It identifies specific activities to be undertaken with the use of federal funding from both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) program. Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed amendment should do so in writing and send the same to firstname.lastname@example.org or to the Housing Division, PO Box 7402, Sioux Falls, SD, 57117-7402. Written comments must include the name and address of the individual submitting the comment. The comment period ends at 5 p.m. on March 5, 2021. Sundance Group, Inc., Walnut Development. Up to $126,000 of CDBG funds will be provided to a housing development at 2100 East Walnut Street in Sioux Falls. 24 new housing units will be developed. Thirteen of the completed housing units will be made available for purchase by households with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income (AMI).
Sundance Group, Inc., St. Paul Development. Up to $120,000 of CDBG funds will be provided to a housing development at 1715 North St. Paul Avenue and 1729 North St. Paul Avenue in Sioux Falls. Three new housing units will be developed and will be made available for purchase by households with incomes at or below 80 percent of the area median income (AMI).
Bishop Dudley Hospitality House operational costs. Up to $110,000 of CDBG-CV funds will be provided to Bishop Dudley Hospitality House for homeless shelter operational costs which have increased as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Funding for Bishop Dudley will be from unused funds from a second recovery shelter that is now being funded by Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) dollars. Funding for the Walnut and St. Paul Development will be from the 2020 Single-Family Rehab Program.
