Lane Closures - 57th Street

Beginning on Monday, October 12, 2020, the inside eastbound and westbound lanes of 57th Street will be closed between South Minnesota Avenue and Isabel Place to allow crews to complete the concrete and utility work along 57th Street. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. This work is expected to be complete in the fall of 2020.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Traffic Delays on 26th Street and Bike Path at Rotary Park

Beginning on Monday, October 12, 2020, expect delays on East 26th Street near I-229 and Southeastern Avenue. Contractors will be setting the beams for the north portion of the bridge over the Big Sioux River. Beams will be picked off of trucks parked on East 26th Street and immediately placed on the piers. Traffic will be flagged and temporarily stopped during this time. 

Also, expect delays on the bike path near Rotary Park. As the contractor places the beams over the bike path, crews will flag pedestrian and bike traffic for safety.

Expect delays to occur through Friday, October 16, 2020.

Falls Park Sanitary Sewer Lining Project

Beginning on Monday, October 12, 2020, work is to begin at Falls Park to install a CIPP lining in the sanitary sewer pipe that crosses the Big Sioux River along a crossing bridge located just north of the falls. Work is anticipated to be complete in approximately three weeks.

The trail along the east side of the Big Sioux River will be closed to pedestrian traffic. The contractor will access the project from the parking lot located on the west side of the river just south of Falls Park Drive.

Pedestrian traffic in Falls Park is encouraged to use caution and remain distanced from the work areas. Crews will be working on both sides of the Big Sioux River.

Lane Closures – Ninth Street at River Road

Beginning on Monday morning, October 12, 2020, outside westbound lane on Ninth Street and River Road at North Phillips Avenue will be closed. The sidewalk adjacent to the closure and alley are expected to stay open. ANCO Underground is installing utilities for Verizon. The work is expected to be completed by October 19, 2020.

Lane Closures – Fourth Avenue

Beginning on Monday morning, October 12, 2020, the inside southbound lane on Fourth Avenue just past Benson Road will be closed. Xcel Energy is repairing utilities and the work is expected to be completed by the evening of October 12, 2020.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – Phillips Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday morning, October 13, 2020, North Phillips Avenue will be closing between North Drive and Falls Park Drive. Local Traffic will still have access to driveways.

Mid-American will be repairing utilities. The work is expected to be done by the evening of Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
