Street Closure – 57th Street

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, West 57th Street will be closed between South Galway Avenue and South Sertoma Avenue.

Soukup Construction requires a full street closure for approximately six hours and plans to re-open 57th Street to a single lane of traffic in each direction in the existing eastbound lanes by 12 a.m. on August 19, 2020.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - Pebble Creek Road

Beginning on Tuesday, August 18, 202, Pebble Creek Road will be closed from Holbrook Avenue to Drexel Drive as part of the next phase of the Pebble Creek Road and Drexel Drive Water main Improvements project. There will be no access to driveways and on street parking on Pebble Creek Road will not be allowed.

Work will include underground utility improvements, curb and gutter repairs, curb ramp upgrades, and surfacing improvements.

Weather permitting, this segment of Pebble Creek Road is anticipated to reopen to traffic by late September.

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, the southbound left turn lane, as well as the Northbound left turn lane and Northbound inside lane of South Minnesota Avenue will be closed at 22nd Street to allow crews to perform underground utility work.

This closure will begin after 6:30 p.m. and lanes will be open by 8 a.m. Thursday Morning. Access to businesses will be maintained.

Street Closure – Brookings Street

Beginning on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, West Brookings Street will be closed between Duluth Avenue and Walts Avenue to allow contractors to install a temporary sanitary sewer bypass pipe. Access will be maintained for the residents in this area. 

This work is anticipated to be complete in one day.

This is the next phase of a project to reconstruct Bailey Street between West Avenue and Main Avenue.  Improvements will include upgrading the water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, accessible curb ramps and asphalt surfacing. 

This project is anticipated to be complete by November 2020.
