This notice provides the public an opportunity to examine and comment on amendment #3 to the 2020 Annual Action Plan for the City of Sioux Falls for a period of 5 days. Low- and moderate-income persons, racial and ethnic minorities, non-English speaking persons, and persons with disabilities are specifically encouraged to review and comment on the proposed amendment. The Action Plan is part of the City’s Consolidated Plan. It identifies specific activities to be undertaken with the use of federal funding from both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) program. This amendment will allocate $603,206 of CDBG-CV funds that will be awarded to the City through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress and signed into law on March 27, 2020. Written comments must include the name and address of the individual submitting the comment. The comment period ends at 5 p.m. on May 13, 2020.
Up to $285,000 of CDBG-CV funds will be provided for operations of a recovery center for homeless people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Up to $198,206 of CDBG-CV funds will be provided to Bishop Dudley Hospitality House for homeless shelter operational costs which have increased as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Up to $120,000 will be utilized for administration of this grant.
