First City Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
The City of Sioux Falls has confirmed that an employee who works in the Police Department tested positive for COVID-19.
The City is working closely with the South Dakota Department of Health to identify members of the public and Police Department staff as well as others who may have been exposed. We continue to vigorously follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) infection control protocols. We are taking extra precautions to monitor the health of staff who may have come into close contact with this person.
The officer who tested positive for COVID-19 last worked early Sunday morning and has been at home since then. The officer received the test results today and the City was notified immediately.
The health, safety and well-being of our staff and the community we serve remains our top priority.
