Sidewalk Closure - 11th Street

Beginning on Monday, June 3, 2019, the sidewalk and the parking lane on the south side of 11th Street between Main Avenue and Phillips Avenue will be closed to allow contractors to reconstruct the sidewalk and tree planters in that area. The alley south of 11th Street between Main Avenue and Phillips Avenue will also be closed at 11th Street as part of this work. The alley can still be accessed via 12th Street. This is the next phase of a project to upgrade the ADA accessible curb ramps and sidewalk in select locations. Work at this location is anticipated to be complete in approximately one week. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

North Minnesota Avenue Construction

Beginning on Monday, June 3, 2019, the outside northbound and outside southbound lanes on Minnesota Avenue south of Benson Road near the airport will be closed to allow crews to perform concrete pavement repairs. The lane closures will be moved to the inside lanes as work progresses. One lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times during construction. All work is expected to be completed within two weeks with favorable weather conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure – West Sixth Street

Beginning on Sunday evening, June 2, 2019, West Sixth Street will be closed from Minnesota Avenue to Dakota Avenue. The Street Division is performing road maintenance and is anticipated to be completed by the morning of June 3, 2019. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Tennis Lane Improvements Project

Beginning on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, work at the intersection of Louise Avenue and Tennis Lane will start. Traffic will be maintained on Louise Avenue, however both lanes of northbound traffic will be shifted to the west. The work in the intersection is required for connection of the new watermain along Tennis Lane to the existing water utility system along Louise Avenue. Work will include construction of ADA sidewalk ramps. The work is anticipated to be complete in two weeks. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Minnesota Avenue at Russell Street Construction

Beginning on Monday, June 3, 2019, the outside northbound lane of Minnesota Avenue will be closed north of Russell Street to allow construction crews to perform pavement repairs. The outside eastbound to northbound turning lane on Russell Street will also be closed in conjunction with the Minnesota Avenue lane closures. The lane closure will be moved to the inside northbound lane as work progresses, with one lane of northbound traffic on Minnesota Avenue and one turning lane on Russell Street being maintained at all times during construction. All work is expected to be completed within two weeks with favorable weather conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
