Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Kicks Off Summer Season
The Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation 2019 Summer Fun Guide in online and ready for the summer days ahead! The guide lists summer recreational activities for all ages. Programs include health and fitness, sports, aquatics, art, music and theater.
We are ready to kick off the summer season with some of featured programs:
- Supervised Playgrounds
Free neighborhood drop-in program for 7 to 12 year olds. Playground staff will lead games, crafts, and special activities for the summer. Look for the rec van to pull up and come out for the fun! Weekly themes and activity schedule will be available from the staff. No registration required. Free. Closed July 4.

- Tot Lot Program
Tot Lot is the cool place to be for kids ages 6 years and under. Bring your adult and see what you can do together for fun. Our elementary school teacher staff will have weekly themes to encourage free play combined with simple crafts and games to get you moving. Program will be canceled in case of inclement weather. No registration required. Free. Closed July 4.

Location: Spellerberg Park (shelter)
- Storyland Children’s Theater
Shows will involve fairy tales, music characterizations, costumes, dance, and the audience! These shows are free and open to children of every age. No registration required. Free. Closed July 4.
Dates: June 11–August 1 Tuesdays, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m.

- Summer Open Gym & Game Room Program
Enjoy basketball or volleyball in an indoor, open-play setting, along with a game room which may include board games, video games, pool table, air hockey, and foosball. This program is available for all ages. Individuals 6 years and younger must be directly supervised by someone 16 years of age or older. No registration required. Free. Closed July 4.
