Board Vacancies—Main Street Business Improvement District Board
Mayor Paul TenHaken has announced two vacancies to the Main Street Business Improvement District Board which serves the downtown area.
The mission of the Board is to make recommendations to the City Council for the establishment of plans for improvements in the business district area and matters related to assessment rates, renewal of assessments, district boundaries, and use of funds.
The Board is composed of six members who are appointed to a three-year term by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Board meetings are held as needed at various locations.
To fulfill the board member requirement, the vacancies must represent an owner or owner’s representative of real property within the district, a business operator, or a resident of the downtown district. Interested persons should have a vested interest in downtown Sioux Falls and a strong commitment to public service.
