Siouxland Libraries celebrates April as National Poetry Month with programs and events for all ages.

  • Siouxland Libraries Fourth Annual Poetry Slam: Listen or read your original work (register at or by calling 367-8700), Remedy Brewing Company, 401 East Eighth Street, Suite 120, First Friday, April 6, 2018, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

  • Poem in Your Pocket Day: A poetry-themed storytime at 10:30 a.m., with crafts and activities to follow. For children ages 3 to 8. Saturday, April 7, 2018, 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Prairie West Branch, 7630 West 26th Street, 978-6899.

  • Poetry Party: Read, write, recite . . . poems for everyone, Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 4 to 5 p.m., Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue, 367-8700.

  • A Conversation―Poetry and Book Talk: Members of the Women Poets Collective will read poems that cover the topic of family from their latest books, with discussion to follow. Monday, April 16, 2018, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue, 367-8700.
