|Why:||Congress passed the Fair Housing Act in 1968 to end discrimination in housing based on race, color, sex, national origin, or religion. The Sioux Falls Human Relations Office, a division of the City Attorney’s Office, provides education, outreach, and technical assistance regarding fair housing laws. In addition, the Human Relations Office investigates claims of housing discrimination based on a protected class.|
