41st Street Water Transmission Line Rehabilitation

Project Update 9/10/2021

  • Starting Thursday, September 16, the contractor will set up a temporary lane closure in the outside eastbound lane of 41st Street between Valley View Road and Marion Road to perform saw cutting, but this lane will be reopened to traffic for the weekend.
  • Then, starting Monday, September 20, the contractor will begin work on Phase 3 (see picture above), which will include roadway removals, watermain rehabilitation, and then restoration of the roadway.
  • Work within this phase is expected to finish in October, weather permitting.
  • Phases 1 and 2 are anticipated to begin at a later date as material supplies permit.
  • Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Commuter Route Information:

  • The outside eastbound lane of 41st Street from Valley View Road/Holbrook Avenue to Marion Road will be closed to traffic.
  • Eastbound traffic will utilize the center turn lane so that two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained on 41st Street during construction.
  • Businesses/homes cannot be accessed through the construction zone and must be accessed off of Marion Road, Larch Street, or Fairhill Avenue.
