Lifeguard Midco® Aquatic Center Job Opportunities
Rate: $16.00 per hour
The City of Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation Department is accepting applications for an Interim Lifeguard at the Midco Aquatic Center. This individual will have knowledge in basic water rescue techniques, basic first aid and CPR, provide swimming instruction to all levels. They must have the ability to supervise employees and maintain any reporting, attendance records and timesheet approvals as needed. This is a non-civil service 40 hours per week position with no benefits except access to the City of Sioux Falls’ health insurance program.
Minimum qualifications include:
Graduation from high school or GED certification. Must possess Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification and be American Red Cross certified prior to hire with and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a lifeguard; or any such combination of education, experience, or training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
