Be Part of the Community

Getting to know your neighbors has more benefits that you might imagine. When neighbors engage with each other, the close-to-home benefits can be far reaching.

Good community relationships keep families and neighborhoods safe. Connecting with neighbors provides a boost of well-being, along with help in emergencies, and daily social interactions.

When large-scale events strike, like the snowstorms of 2023 and, the derecho and tornados in 2022, we can count on each other. Neighborhoods could be on their own for up to 72 hours. But when we know which neighbors are homebound, need transportation during an evacuation, depend on medication or electricity to survive … we pull through.

There are many ways to get acquainted and involved. A Sioux Falls Neighborhood organization is one! They serve members by working with organizations and individuals to provide information about issues that affect the neighborhood, and work together to address concerns. A neighborhood association can also be a fun way to get to know your neighbors.
