Council Member Pat Starr

Biography

Pat is a lifelong South Dakotan who was raised in Canton and Yankton. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Political Science from Mount Marty in Yankton. Following graduation, Pat and his wife Emily made Sioux Falls their home, where he is currently an independent contractor for printing sales and she is a registered nurse.

Pat and Emily have two children and provide foster care for an additional daughter. The Starr family is on the go with the children ranging from kindergarten through high school. They enjoy the park system in Sioux Falls as well as The Old Court House Museum/Pettigrew Home and the Great Plains Zoo. The family is an active member of St. Therese Church in northeast Sioux Falls, and their children attend the Sioux Falls Catholic Schools. Pat also serves on the Board of Directors of Health Connection, Sioux Falls East Kiwanis, and Family Connect. He is also a member of the Oakview Neighborhood Association.

In 2020, Pat was reelected to a second term representing the city’s Northeast District.
