Stray Animals/Lost and Found Pets
Call 367-7000 to report a lost pet or if you have found a stray pet. Stray dogs and cats are illegal in Sioux Falls. Wandering pets often end up hit by cars, tormented by non-animal lovers, and if frightened, can bite strangers out of fear. Stray animals are also exposed to contagious diseases such as rabies and distemper, which they can bring home with them to their owners and other pets. Reporting stray animals is a true service both to the public and to the pets.
- Every effort will be made to return lost pets to their owners.
