Yoga-inspired stretches. Head-to-toe stretches to increase range of motion and encourage better flexibility. Body maintenance and mechanics under the sun. We will meet in the parking lot.

This strength training class is an effective way to improve muscular strength and endurance. Using various exercises to increase your metabolic rate by incorporating the fundamental movements of all the major muscle groups.

STRENGTH AND TONING—ARMS, ABS, AND BUNS

This class will help you tone your arms and core by using various body weight exercises. You are stronger than you think! Class will consist of 20 minutes of arms, 20 minutes of abs, and 20 minutes of buns!

UPPER SHERMAN PARK | AGES: 14+

Summer is here and with the nice warm weather, we will introduce you to some of the Health, Wellness, and Fitness classes available this year. If you are interested in getting in shape in 2019, this is the perfect opportunity, by learning about some of the classes offered and trying them first-hand. Each station will last 15 to 20 minutes and give you insight if you were to sign up for one of the classes. A registration booth will also be available on site, if you are interested in registering after you have tried it during the demonstration. Sherman Park is a fully equipped playground for your little ones to play while you exercise away. Door prize drawings will be held, must be present to win.

With a focus on strength, our goal is simple—reduce body fat by creating lean muscle. Strength training with attitude and purpose. Utilizing hand weights to tone the glutes, back, and arms. Body weight exercises to tone the legs. Please bring your own yoga mat.

Our Ladies’ Bootcamp offers a variety of workouts that will keep you in tip-top shape! It’s always a fun challenge, whether you are new to exercise or just getting back into it, you can go at your own pace and work your way up. Anyone can be a part of the program and all levels are welcome. Our boot camp workout will consist of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and stretching. Please bring your own towel/mat.

FIRST AID, CPR, AND AED

KUEHN C.C. | AGES: 16+

This classroom course trains in basic first aid, adult CPR, and AED skills to meet OSHA requirements. This is not the CPR-required course for healthcare providers such as EMTs, nursing, physicians, etc. American Safety and Health Institute two-year certification and student manual included. Participants should bring a lunch for the 30-minute lunch break period. Course presented by Heartstarters.

SWING DANCE IN THE PARK

Swing is pure American on the dance floor. With its fast turns and spins to music of the 40s, 50s, and beyond, everyone recognizes the fun of the Swing. Learn to dance the Swing in the fresh air setting of a park. There’s no better place to “play.”

HEALTHY HABITS

We all know what’s good for us (or maybe not). The real question is how to incorporate it into our lives and make it stick. Advice will be provided for the do’s and don’ts for making better choices every day. Hands-on demonstrations are provided live. We’ll talk stretching, meditating, nutrition, and we’ll exercise the “how to” and “how to make it happen.” Please bring your own yoga mat.
