What is this kickboxing craze all about? Aqua Kick combines a variety of kicks, jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, and core exercises in a fun, high energy class! Held in the shallow end of the pool, Aqua Kick provides an effective total body aerobic workout with less stress on the joints. Combinations will help keep your mind engaged while you tone, shape, and sculpt your body. Registration required.

Stay Strong Functional Fitness

MIDCO AQUATIC CENTER | AGES: 18+

This warm water class is designed to assist you in improving your strength and cardiovascular health. The class format combines body resistance and water exercise equipment with light-to-moderate aerobic exercise. During the 60 minutes of instruction, class participants will strengthen their major muscle groups, as well as improve range of motion of all muscles and joints. Improvement of flexibility, balance, and stamina can be expected. The movements of cardio activity are different for every class in order for your body to receive optimal benefit for your physical health! Registration required.

This class will be fast paced or whatever pace you would like. We will be swimming with fins and a kick board, so you do not need to know how to swim to attend this class. We will mix it up with shallow, deep, and lots of fun, while building strength and endurance using a variety of equipment. A great workout packed in 45 minutes. Registration required.

STRESS RELEASE

KUEHN POOL | AGES: 18+

An aqua fitness class of moderate intensity that uses the properties of water resistance to get in shape while minimizing impact to joints and back. Stress release is great for all, but especially for senior adults, beginners, and those desiring a lower impact workout. No swimming ability required, FUN provided! Aqua-bells are used to enhance strength. Registration required.

SUMMER SOLSTICE HIKE

GREAT BEAR RECREATION PARK | AGES: 6-99

Celebrate the longest day of the year by partaking in a hike in one of Sioux Falls’ most beautiful parks. Hiking not only provides the physical relief of other exercise choices, hiking in nature has been shown to be a powerful anxiety and stress reliever for people of all ages. Bring sturdy shoes and an adventurous spirit to partake in this summer solstice hike. Must be able to hike one mile on rocky and sometimes uneven terrain. Registration required.

This classroom course trains in basic first aid, adult CPR, and AED skills to meet OSHA requirements. This is not the CPR-required course for healthcare providers such as EMTs, nursing, physicians, etc. American Safety and Health Institute two-year certification and student manual included.
