Are you new to T-ball or looking for some extra practice this summer? Come to this introductory class on T-ball, where your little one can learn to play the sport, or practice the skills that they already have! We will be practicing throwing, hitting, and fielding. If your little one has a glove, please bring it, but it’s not required. Kuehn Park session will meet at the softball fields by the skate park, with a rain location of the Kuehn Community Center. The Morningside Park session will meet in the Harvey Dunn parking lot and walk over to the Morningside Park Softball Field, with a rain location of the Morningside Community Center. SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF SOUTH DAKOTA AGES: 2-5

In partnership with Special Olympics South Dakota for Young Athletes Strider Program, this program gives kids the opportunity to get the feel for riding a bike with the comfort of their feet on the ground. Bikes will be provided. Helmets are required, please bring your own. Registration required.

MAP AND COMPASS TREASURE HUNTERS

AGES: 6–12

Will you be able to find the hidden treasure? Through this fun-filled treasure hunting adventure, participants will learn the basics of using a map and compass. Studies have shown that children who understand how to read maps have an increased level of spatial thinking, which is an important problem solving skill. All supplies provided. KIDZ AQUA FITNESS

Come see what all the fuss is about with water exercise. Don’t let the adults have all the fun, come join this class to learn all the great water moves. Today’s families often have limited opportunities to connect with the natural environment through outdoor experiences. Fishing in your local parks is a perfect way to combat this statistic. We’ll provide the bait, fishing poles, and instruction on a first–come, first–served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a five–to–one ratio of children to adults must be observed. Participants ages 16 and above must have a valid South Dakota fishing license. No registration required.

Fairytale Opera Camp, gives your child the chance to learn more about singing and acting from real working professional singers. YOUTH TRIATHLON TRAINING

KUEHN PARK/POOL | AGES: 6-18

If you are planning on competing in the Youth Triathlon, or just want to learn what it’s all about, this is for you. Practice your swimming, biking, and running skills while getting tips on how to improve. Sioux Falls Swim Team and ERIK’s Bike Shop will be on-site to assist with training. Bring your swimsuit, towel, bike, helmet, and running shoes each day. Tuesday’s class will focus on swimming and practice transitioning to bike. Wednesday’s class will focus on bike etiquette, riding the bike route, and transitioning to the run. ERIK’s Bike Shop will be at the training on Wednesday to help with free basic bike fits and bike safety checks. Thursday’s class will focus on transitioning from the bike and running the race route. ADAPTIVE AQUATICS

ADAPTIVE—ENCOURAGED FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS LAUREL OAK FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER

SFPR and Sanford Wellness Center are happy to announce an adaptive aquatics program for children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide students with a structured aquatic experience designed to make them feel comfortable and safe while swimming. Carole Wolf, a S.D.-certified teacher with a master’s degree in adaptive aquatics, will be conducting the classes. Classes will be a one-to-one student-to-instructor ratio for a 30-minute lesson.

BASKETBALL SKILLS COMPETITION

Are you looking for somewhere to showcase your basketball skills? Looking for an individual competition? Well we have the competition for you! Participants will compete in the Hoop Shoot, Free Throw, and Hot Spot Contest. Contestants will be divided into four age divisions, 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-17 and by gender. Champions in each age division, for both boys and girls, will receive a one-of-a-kind champion T-shirt and bragging rights! Registration is required.

Stay Strong Functional Fitness

MIDCO AQUATIC CENTER | AGES: 18+

This warm water class is designed to assist you in improving your strength and cardiovascular health. The class format combines body resistance and water exercise equipment with light-to-moderate aerobic exercise. During the 60 minutes of instruction, class participants will strengthen their major muscle groups, as well as improve range of motion of all muscles and joints. Improvement of flexibility, balance, and stamina can be expected. The movements of cardio activity are different for every class in order for your body to receive optimal benefit for your physical health! Registration required.

This class will be fast paced or whatever pace you would like. We will be swimming with fins and a kick board, so you do not need to know how to swim to attend this class. This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful bike trail system on their own. Round-trip golf cart tours will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks, and wildlife. Five age divisions. All boats will be judged based on creativity, sea-worthiness, and quickest to sink! Each boat will need up to two participants to commandeer the course.
