Signal Work – Sixth Street and Minnesota Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, May 7, at 9:00 a.m., the signal at East Sixth Street and North Minnesota Avenue will be turned off and replaced with a temporary four-way stop to allow construction crews to work on a junction box.  

This work is anticipated to be complete by 5:00 p.m. the same day.  

This is the next phase of a project to upgrade the ADA accessible curb ramps and sidewalk at select intersections along the West 41st Street, South Western Avenue, and North Minnesota Avenue corridors.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Sycamore Avenue 

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the southbound right turn lane of South Sycamore Avenue will be closed at East 41st Street.  

Wilthech Inc. will be performing fiber optic repairs. This work is anticipated to be complete by 2:00 p.m. on May 8, 2019.

Louise Avenue & Shirley Avenue Construction

Beginning on Monday, May 13, 2019, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the intersection of South Louise Avenue and South Shirley Avenue daily between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. to allow crews to perform concrete pavement patching. The lanes closed within the intersection will vary daily as crews progress with the repairs, however, one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times while work is occurring. All lanes will be open to traffic between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week.
