Lane Closure – West Sixth Street

Beginning on Monday morning, May 6, 2019, the outside westbound lane of West Sixth Street will be closed between North Lake Avenue and West Avenue. All traffic movements at the intersection will be maintained throughout the closure.

Backhaus Excavating will be performing utility work and anticipates completion by May 10, 2019.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Tennis Lane and 57th Street Improvements

Beginning on Monday, May 6, 2019, work will begin for street and utility improvements along 51st Street from Oxbow Avenue to Tennis Lane, and along Tennis Lane from 57th Street to Louise Avenue. In Phase One, 51st Street from Oxbow Avenue to Tennis Lane will be closed to traffic.

Work will include removal and replacement of pavement along Tennis Lane from 57th Street to Louise Avenue, and along 51st Street from Oxbow Avenue to Tennis Lane. Watermain, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and sump pump collection improvements will be performed. ADA compliant sidewalk ramps will be constructed at the street intersections.

Tennis Lane will be closed to traffic during upcoming phases. Work is anticipated to be complete by fall of 2019.

Danberry Drive and Drexel Drive Street Improvements from Bakker Park Drive to 58th Street

Beginning on Monday, May 6, 2019, work will begin for street improvements on Danberry Drive and Drexel Drive from Bakker Park Drive to 58th Street.

Work will include asphalt removal and replacement along Bakker Park Drive between Danberry Drive and Drexel Drive. Asphalt milling and asphalt overlay will be along Danberry Drive from Bakker Park Drive to 58th Street, along Drexel Drive from south of Bakker Park Drive to 57th Street, and 58th Street from Holbrook Avenue to Drexel Drive.

Streets will be closed to traffic during milling and paving operations. Traffic control will be in place. Work is anticipated to be complete within 30 working days.
