Status of Recent Fires

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Community Risk Reduction is reporting its current findings regarding investigations of two different fires earlier this month:

  • On January 9, 2019, Wednesday afternoon, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 2604 West Russell Street. A fire investigation was conducted by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue to determine fire origin and cause. At this time, considering available evidence, the fire cause is classified as “undetermined.”

  • On January 23, 2019, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a report of smoke coming from a mobile home at 6705 West 14th Place. A fire investigation was conducted to determine fire origin and cause. After considering available evidence, it appears the fire started in a bedroom. The cause of the fire will be classified as “undetermined.”
