69th Street Construction Begins

Beginning on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, construction crews will begin working on West 69th Street between Louise Avenue and Medical Court. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times, thru lane widths will be reduced. Drivers should remain alert to changing conditions while driving through the work area.

Work will include reconstructing and expanding 69th Street to a four-lane urban street section with a center median. Other improvements will include new traffic signals at Beal Avenue and Mogan Avenue, LED street lights, storm drainage improvements, and miscellaneous water main and sanitary sewer repairs.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closures for Terry Avenue and 43rd Street Drainage Improvements Project

Beginning on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, work will begin for the final year of construction on the Terry Avenue and West 43rd Street Drainage Improvements Project. 

West 43rd Street from Cambridge Avenue to Larch Avenue, Larch Avenue from 43rd Street to 44th Street, and the intersection of 44th Street and Larch Avenue will be closed. Work will include the installation of new sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer and is expected to be completed by the middle of May.   

Work will also continue in Marion Park with the installation of the irrigation system, concrete sidewalk and playground installation. 

Beginning on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, Cathy Avenue from Heritage Place to 45th Street including the intersection of 45th Street will be closed. Work will include the installation of new sanitary sewer, water main and storm sewer and is expected to be completed by the middle of June.   

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
