—Board Vacancy—ADA Accessibility Review Board
Mayor Paul TenHaken has announced a vacancy to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessibility Review Board.
The Board is composed of seven members who are appointed to a four-year term by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Membership must include representatives of the disabled community.
The Board works with the City ADA Coordinator to advise the Mayor and City Council on matters pertaining to universal accessibility. Duties may include monitoring the City transition plan and making recommendations in prioritizing the resolution of accessibility concerns; reviewing City buildings, programs, and services for accessibility issues; and encouraging the use of universal design in City facilities.
Monthly board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of the month at 10:15 a.m. in the City Hall Commission Room, 224 West Ninth Street.
Interested persons should have a strong commitment to public service and an understanding of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
