—Board Vacancy—Zoning Board of Adjustment

Mayor Paul TenHaken has announced a vacancy to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

The Board is composed of five members and two alternates who are appointed to a three-year term by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Membership includes persons with expert knowledge of construction, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, law, or practical experience in related land use areas.

The Board is a quasi-judicial board with the authority to vary the zoning ordinance requirements for height, setback, yard, parking, or density. Variances are granted on properties that have special circumstances due to the lot’s shape, topography, or other similar situations.

Monthly Board meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. in Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th Street, unless otherwise noted.
