Siouxland Libraries’ Book Walk to Feature Popular Children’s Entertainer Rockin’ Red
Children and families are invited to take a walk and read the pages of children’s books along the Bike Trail between the Sioux Falls’ Downtown River Greenway Amphitheater and Falls Park. Presented by Siouxland Libraries, the Children’s Book Walk is Wednesday, August 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. It begins on the Bike Trail near the North Weber Avenue entrance to the east side of Falls Park. It ends at the Downtown River Greenway Amphitheater (west of Cherapa Place, between Sixth and Eighth Streets). Parking is available at Falls Park.
Those attending can also visit the Bookmobile and enjoy energetic performances by Rockin' Red from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Rockin’ Red’s website notes, “Her shows are packed with fun, since she isn't afraid to be silly and goofy!” Performances include original, upbeat songs geared toward children ages 1 to 12. Activities include an egg shaker-making station, face painting, and a sensory activity.
In case of inclement weather, the performer and book walk activities will be held at Siouxland Libraries Oak View Branch, 3700 East Third Street.
If an ADA accommodation is needed, please contact the City of Sioux Falls Human Relations Office at 367-8745 or at least 72 hours before the event.
