Monday Marks the Fifth Anniversary of the April 2013 Ice Storm

What:  News conference to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the April 2013 ice storm that resulted in the eight-month recovery effort called “Operation Timber Strike!”

Why:   On April 9, 2013, Sioux Falls and the surrounding area was covered with a thick blanket of ice. The storm resulted in an eight-month recovery effort called “Operation Timber Strike!” one of the longest and most expensive cleanup efforts in the City’s history, but also one of the biggest wins of the past eight years. Come to the news conference to take a look back at the work that occurred in 2013 to ensure public safety and to make sure our city could bounce back as we have now five years later.
