Street Closure –
66th Street and Galway Avenue

Beginning on Monday, October 2, 2017, the intersection of West 66th Street and Galway Avenue will be closed to allow construction crews to perform asphalt pavement removal and replacement with street subgrade repair. Galway Avenue between 66th Street and Jacob Street remains closed as well. Motorists should utilize Kerry Avenue as an alternate route. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within one week...

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure –
Spruceleigh Lane

Beginning on Monday, October 2, 2017, a drainage project will be occurring just off of Spruceleigh Lane west of Donahue Drive. Traffic will be maintained at all times, but lane widths will be reduced. 

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete within three weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure –
Western Avenue and 24th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, South Western Avenue will be closed at 24th Street to allow construction crews to perform asphalt street patching in this intersection. Access to the Midco Aquatic Center will be maintained on Western Avenue from the north only. Commuters should use either Grange Avenue or Kiwanis Avenue as an alternate route.

This work is anticipated to be complete by early Wednesday.

Arrowhead Parkway Traffic Switch

Beginning on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, all lanes of traffic on Arrowhead Parkway from Foss Avenue through Highline Avenue will switch from the north side of Arrowhead Parkway to the newly reconstructed south side of Arrowhead Parkway. Highline Avenue south of Arrowhead Parkway will remain closed. Highline Avenue north of Arrowhead Parkway will remain open. This work is part of the ongoing Arrowhead Parkway reconstruction project.

Phase 1 of this project is anticipated to be fully open to traffic by late fall of 2017, with additional work between Highline Avenue and Sycamore Avenue occurring in 2018.

The overall project is scheduled to be complete by late fall of 2018.
