Galway Avenue Construction

Beginning on Monday, September 25, 2017, Galway Avenue will be closed between 66th Street and Jacob Street to allow construction crews to perform asphalt pavement removal and replacement with street subgrade repair.

Motorists should utilize Kerry Avenue as an alternate route.

Work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather. Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Street Closure - North Lewis Avenue and East Spruce

Beginning on Monday morning, September 25, 2017, the intersection of North Lewis Avenue and East Spruce Street will be closed to complete sanitary sewer construction work. Drivers are directed to detour along East Pine Street and North Jessica Avenue. Access will be maintained to local residents near the intersection.

The intersection is anticipated to be reopened by Friday, October 13, 2017.

Utility work on 11th Street between
Main Avenue and Phillips Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, crews will be performing utility work near the alley on 11th Street between Main Avenue and Phillips Avenue. Crews will be boring a new conduit crossing under 11th Street.

Expect intermittent alley closures on the north side of 11th Street. The sidewalk and the parking spaces immediately adjacent to the construction zone will be closed. The work is expected to be completed the first week of October.

Minnesota Avenue Pavement Repairs
22nd Street to 18th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, Phase 3 work will begin for the Minnesota Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project from 22nd Street to 18th Street.

In Phase 3, the northbound and center turn lane will be closed between 18th Street and 22nd Street. Traffic will be maintained in the southbound lanes with traffic reduced to one lane in each direction.

The work will consist of pavement patching and sidewalk radius reconstruction to meet current ADA requirements. Work will also include storm sewer repairs, water utility repairs, sanitary sewer repairs and installation of new street lights.

Phase 3 work is anticipated to be complete in approximately three weeks and the overall project final completion is expected by the end of October.
