Structure Fire—909 North Irene Place

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 909 North Irene Place at approximately 7:36 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Neighbors reported hearing a beeping noise outside their home and went to investigate. They found the smoke alarm going off in the mobile home next to theirs and smoke coming from the roofline. Fire crews responded and when they arrived, they witnessed smoke coming from the roof area also. Neighbors reported there being nobody home at the time of the call. Fire crews made entry into the home and extinguished the fire in approximately ten minutes after arrival. The mobile home sustained a small amount of fire damage and smoke damage throughout the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with four fire apparatuses, two support units, and 19 Firefighters. The Sioux Falls Police Department, Paramedics Plus Ambulance, MidAmerican Energy, and Xcel Energy responded to assist. The home did not have residential sprinklers. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue reminds residents to make sure they have working smoke detectors in their homes and to test them monthly.
