Human Relations Office to Announce City’s New Equality Index Score on Friday
|What:||News conference to announce the City’s 2017 Municipal Equality Index score, released each year by the Human Rights Campaign|
|When:||Friday, October 20, 2017
|Where:||City Hall Commission Room
224 West Ninth Street
|Who:||Colleen Moran, Assistant City Attorney|
|Why:||The Human Rights Campaign has released its Municipal Equality Index, and Sioux Falls has again improved its score. The Municipal Equality Index examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of the LGBTQ people who live and work there. Cities are rated based on nondiscrimination laws, the municipality as an employer, municipal services, law enforcement, and the city leadership’s public position on equality. Come to the news conference to learn more about the City’s efforts toward inclusivity and where there is still work to do.|
