Arrowhead Parkway Phase 1 Completion

Beginning on Wednesday evening, November 22, 2017, phase one construction that began in August of the Arrowhead Parkway project is substantially complete. Arrowhead Parkway and Highline Avenue are now fully open to traffic for the winter months.

Phase one of the Arrowhead Parkway project included the reconstruction of the intersection of Arrowhead Parkway and Highline Avenue. Arrowhead Parkway was widened to six lanes and includes a median with left and right turn lanes, while Highline Avenue was widened to four lanes with additional left turn lanes. This phase of the project also included underground utility improvements. Traffic signal improvements at this intersection will occur over the coming months. Daytime lane closures may occur over the winter as the traffic signals are installed. Construction cones will remain in place outside of the traffic lanes throughout the winter.

Phase two of the Arrowhead Parkway project will begin in the spring of 2018. Improvements in phase two will include underground utility improvements, street light and traffic signal improvements, and widening Arrowhead Parkway to 6 lanes with a center median from Sycamore Avenue to Highline Avenue.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
