Plows Painted by Three Area Schools Will Be Featured in the Parade of Lights
Plows painted by three area schools have been chosen to be featured in the 26th annual Parade of Lights. The three plows were voted the crowd favorites during the annual Paint the Plows event on October 21, 2017. The artwork that will be featured in the Parade of Lights are from these schools:
- McCrossan Boys Ranch
- R. F. Pettigrew Elementary
- Eugene Field A+ Elementary
The Parade of Lights is this Friday, November 24, 2017, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The parade route is Phillips Avenue from 13th Street to 5th Street in downtown Sioux Falls.
The Paint the Plows program is open to elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools within Sioux Falls. This year, 22 plows were painted by area students. The Street Division primes the plows, and the schools and organizations supply the paint. The City of Sioux Falls does not censor the content or any viewpoints on the artwork. Any messages or views expressed are not those of the City or endorsed by the City. The top three favorites, along with the plow painted by the Street Division themselves, are featured in the Parade of Lights.
