Siouxland Libraries to Dedicate Family Place Library

Siouxland Libraries Downtown Library will officially join the 400-site, 27-state Family Place Libraries™ network at a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. The event will be held in the children’s area of the Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue. Kathy Deerr, national coordinator for the program, will be present.

Thanks to a $50,000 City Blossom grant from the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, Siouxland Libraries began work on the Family Place Libraries™ initiative in 2015. This model of service incorporates programming, early learning spaces, community connection, and family support to help ensure all children enter school ready and able to learn.

If an ADA accommodation is needed, please contact the Human Relations Office at 605 367 8745 or at least 72 hours before the event.
