Structure Fire—1406 South Minnesota Avenue

On April 29, 2017, Saturday night, at approximately midnight, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 1406 South Minnesota Avenue. A 911 caller reported smoke and flames coming from the back of a business at 1406 South Minnesota Avenue.

Fire units arrived and found a fire in the business toward the back of the structure. Fire crews extinguished the fire in approximately 15 minutes and there were no civilian or responder injuries. The business suffered moderate smoke and fire damage throughout the building.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with two support vehicles, five fire trucks, and 23 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Paramedics Plus ambulance, MidAmerican Energy, and Sioux Falls Police Department.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to test their smoke detectors.
