Street Sweeping Under Way in Sioux Falls

On Monday, March 27, 2017, the Public Works Street Division began sweeping streets across the city. This work is weather-dependent. Some factors that may delay sweeping operations include temperatures below freezing, heavy rain, snow, and frozen gutter lines.

The city has been divided into sweeping districts so that crews can cover all areas of Sioux Falls. Each crew includes a flusher truck to control dust, two sweepers, and two dump trucks that remove the material collected. Drivers are asked to use caution when in or near sweeping work areas.

The Public Works Street Division makes every effort to remove snow and ice control aggregate, sediment, and other debris from the road surfaces each spring. We are looking forward to cleaning up our city’s streets.

Daily sweeping progress reports and a map of the street sweeping districts can be found at Street maintenance information also is available by calling the Public Works Street Division at 605-367-8255 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
