Lane Closure – Cliff Avenue and 49th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, the outside lane of northbound South Cliff Avenue at the intersection of East 49th Street will be closed. Contractors will be removing concrete near the intersection of 49th Street. The lane will reopen daily for morning rush hour traffic and then close again as needed.

This work is anticipated to be complete by Friday, June 23.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes. 

Lane Closure - Southeastern Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, the outside northbound lane of Southeastern Avenue will be closed near the entrance of Pasley Park. Construction crews will be removing and replacing a retaining wall. This lane will close daily at 8:30 a.m. and open at 5:00 p.m. until work is completed.

This work is antipated to be complete by the end of June.

Lane Switch - Western Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, all lanes of traffic on South Western Avenue from Remington Place through 69th Street will switch from the east side of Western Avenue to the newly reconstructed west side of Western Avenue. Traffic will continue to run on the south side of 69th Street from Minnesota Avenue to Landau Circle until July.

This project is anticipated to be fully open to traffic by late fall, with a final completion scheduled for the spring of 2018.

Street Closure – Kennedy Avenue

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, South Kennedy Avenue at the intersection of East 12th Street will be closed. Work will include removal and replacement of the existing pavement, replacing sanitary sewer manhole in addition to replacing approximately 100 feet of sanitary sewer line.

East 12th Street will remain open, however, through traffic will be limited to one lane at times, with no on street parking near the work zones.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be complete in five days.
