Structure Fire at 1531 North Wayland Avenue

On July 21, 2017, at 1:50 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire at 1531 North Wayland Avenue.

Arriving Fire Rescue crews found a small fire in the basement of the structure. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes of the first-arriving crew. Crews found no fire extension. There was no report of firefighter or civilian injuries, although one occupant was treated on scene by Paramedics Plus Ambulance.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 5 fire trucks, 3 support vehicles, and a total of 22 personnel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted on the scene by Sioux Falls Police and Paramedics Plus Ambulance.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to check the date on their smoke detectors and make sure they are working properly.

Structure Fire at 1116 East Sixth Street

On July 22, 2017, at 2:23 a.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire at 1116 East Sixth Street.

First-arriving crews found the front of the structure involved in heavy fire. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of the first-arriving crew. Crews were able to enter the structure to check for fire extension. The structure was reported to be vacant. There was no report of firefighter or civilian injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 5 fire trucks, 3 support vehicles, and a total of 23 personnel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted on the scene by Sioux Falls Police and Paramedics Plus Ambulance.

Structure Fire at 330 North Spring Avenue

On Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 10:33 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire at 330 North Spring Avenue.

First-arriving crews found a rubbish fire next to the structure and an exterior corner of the building on fire. All occupants of the building had evacuated the building. The exterior fire was quickly extinguished and crews searched the interior for any fire extension. The fire had extended up the exterior into the attic area, which had limited access. There was no report of civilian or firefighter injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 5 fire trucks, 3 support vehicles, and a total of 24 personnel. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted on the scene by Sioux Falls Police and Paramedics Plus Ambulance.
