Siouxland Libraries Hosts Human Trafficking Awareness Program

Learning about human trafficking is a first step toward its prevention. Siouxland Libraries Caille Branch, 4100 South Carnegie Circle, aims to raise awareness with a 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, program.

The presentation begins with a gripping documentary, Chosen, which tells the true stories of two teenagers who were tricked into sex trafficking.

Following the 20-minute film, a panel of experts will discuss trafficking, its impact, and what can be done to fight it. The panel includes Detective Cullen McClure of the Sioux Falls Police Department and representatives of Call to Freedom, which provide support services for victims, and The New Colossus, which educates the community about human trafficking in the Midwest.

No registration is required. For more information, please call Siouxland Libraries at 367-8700 or visit

If an ADA accommodation is needed, please contact the Human Relations Office at 605‑367‑8745 or at least 72 hours before the event.
