Midco® Aquatic Center Sets Record Monthly Attendance in June

The Midco® Aquatic Center is the hot place to be this summer! A record number of people came through the doors in June 2017, even with the outdoor public pools open as well.

In June, 27,055 customers enjoyed the Midco Aquatic Center. This is the highest attended month since the facility opened to the public on October 13, 2016. The previous record was 24,195 customers in January 2017.

“Our indoor aquatic center seems to be the preferred place to be when it’s hot outside, although the outdoor pools also are seeing good attendance. This great facility has only added to the incredible amenities our residents and visitors can enjoy in the park system in the summertime,” says Don Kearney, Director of Parks and Recreation.

From October 13, 2016, to June 30, 2017, total attendance at the Midco Aquatic Center was 166,116. The Hydroriders group fitness classes, swimming lessons, Wibit® events, and Flick and Float movie events have all been very popular. Many people also use the facility just for recreational or lap swimming.

The Midco Aquatic Center is open seven days a week, and open swim is available during all operational hours. The facility hours are:
• Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Sunday, 12 noon to 5 p.m.
