Updated Schedule: Join Us for Frosty Frolics This Weekend!

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation will host Frosty Frolics on January 6–8, 2017, at various sites around the city. Celebrate the winter season with a large number of indoor and outdoor activities for all ages planned for this weekend. All outdoor events are weather permitting. All Frosty Frolics events are free, unless otherwise noted.

Frosty Frolics Fun Run/Walk
Fun run 5K and 10K walk/run.

Online registration has closed, but onsite walk‑up registrations will be available. Free.

Southwest side of South Cliff Avenue and I-229

10 a.m.–12 noon Ice Fishing Frenzy

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation partnering with The Outdoor Campus. Ice fishing poles will be loaned out on a first-come, first‑served basis; you also are welcome to bring your own. All ages welcome. A S.D. fishing license is required for ages 16 and older. Free. Registration has closed.

1 p.m. Fatbike Ride Day

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation partnering with Falls Area Singletrack (FAST). Bring your bike out and meet at the Tomar Park parking lot. We will ride to Falls Park, weather permitting. FAST will provide a frosty frozen treat at the end of the ride.

2–4 p.m. Flick and Float Event featuring the movie FrozenJoin us for a floating good time watching a movie in the 50 Meter Pool. There will be inflatables available for you to use while watching this flick! Whoever thought an afternoon watching a favorite movie could be so fun! Active Swim Pass or Daily Admission. 7–9 p.m. Too Drunk to Fish live at the Bears Den Lounge. Great Bear Recreation Park

7:30–10 p.m. Teen Cosmic Skate Come ice skate and socialize with your friends at our teen cosmic skate. Ages 14–17. This event will be held at the Scheels IcePlex and will be a fun-filled night of ice skating, grooving to a DJ, and playing games on the ice. Registration and payment will take place on the night of the event at the Scheels IcePlex. $5 entry/skate rental. Music provided by Moonlight Melodies. Scheels IcePlex
