City of Sioux Falls Housing Professionals Certified by National Body

Brent Tucker and Al Roettger of the City’s Affordable Housing Division recently received certification as Housing Development Finance Professionals (HDFP) from the National Development Council (NDC). HDFP certification is a professional credential given to individuals who successfully complete NDC’s intensive housing development finance training series. The training provides individuals working in the field of housing development with instruction in single-family, multi-family, and housing development finance, including problem solving and deal structuring, and the creation and implementation of development programs.

Tucker and Roettger have responsibility for the analysis required to ensure potential projects are economically feasible and that the projects will provide needed services within the community. They have served 15 and 22 years, respectively, in City government and affordable housing.

The four HDFP Certification Program courses range from three to five days in length and conclude with an exam. Upon successful completion of all four courses, the candidate is awarded HDFP certification.

Congratulations, Brent and Al!
