Major Wastewater Infrastructure Projects Nearly Complete: In-Field Press Meet on Thursday

What:  In-field press meet to provide an update on the installation of 6-foot in diameter sanitary sewer pipes, part of a $25 million investment in wastewater infrastructure that required boring a tunnel under I-229

Head east on Rice Street from Cliff Avenue, then turn north right before I-229.
The site is likely to be muddy. Bring your 4-wheel-drive vehicle and boots!

Why:  Last year the media stood inside some BIG sewer pipes. Now see firsthand the significant tunnel bored underneath I-229 where these pipes will soon reside. Four miles of huge sanitary sewer pipes will convey more than 90 percent of the wastewater for the city and other communities in the region and last for about a century. Come to the press meet to see the pipe under construction and to learn more about a two-year, major wastewater infrastructure project nearly complete.
