Arrowhead Parkway Construction to Begin

Beginning on Monday, August 14, 2017, Arrowhead Parkway between Sycamore Avenue and Veteran’s Parkway will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as work begins on the Arrowhead Parkway reconstruction project.

Work on this project will include underground utility upgrades, street light and traffic signal upgrades, and widening Arrowhead Parkway to six lanes with a center median east of Sycamore Avenue through Highline Avenue. The contractor will concentrate on reconstructing the Highline Avenue and Arrowhead Parkway intersection in 2017, and will complete the remaining portion of the project in 2018.

Beginning Monday morning, August 14, 2017, all lanes of traffic on Arrowhead Parkway will be shifted to the south side of the roadway after the morning rush hour so the contractor can place an asphalt overlay on the north half of the project from Veteran’s Parkway to Gordon Drive. Preparatory work will occur during the day, however, the paving operation will occur between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Beginning on Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017, all lanes of traffic on Arrowhead Parkway will be shifted to the newly overlaid north side of the roadway after the morning rush hour so the contractor can place an asphalt overlay on the south half of the project from Highline Avenue to Gordon Drive.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, Arrowhead Parkway will continue with one lane of traffic in each direction from Foss Avenue to Veteran’s Parkway as the contractor begins work on the Highline Avenue and Arrowhead Parkway intersection reconstruction.

Phase 1 of this project is anticipated to be fully open to traffic by late fall of 2017, with additional work between Highline Avenue and Sycamore Avenue occurring in 2018.

The overall project is scheduled to be complete by late fall of 2018.
