Siouxland Libraries Offers Job Prep Series for Teens
Teens, are you looking for a summer job, but don’t know where to start? Found a job, but you’re unsure about the next steps? Siouxland Libraries can help!
The Prairie West Branch Library, 7630 West 26th Street, is offering a three-part job preparation series for 15- to 19-year-olds from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. the first three Thursdays in April. Topics are:
• April 6―Job Search: Where to look for jobs, what to expect from a job listing, and how volunteering can advance your job search and future career goals.
• April 13―Application: Learn what’s needed in a resume and cover letter and how to format each.
• April 20―Interview: What to expect, questions, and thank-you notes.
In addition, two sessions of mock interviews will be offered Monday, April 24, at 5:30 and 5:55 p.m. Several slots are available during each session.
